Our face is always on display. We might 'hide' it behind a thin mask of make-up or seek to decorate it with jewellery and practiced expressions, frame it with a hairstyle ... but all told, your face can still reveal much more about you that you cannot mask.

In our society, we are constantly reminded of examples of 'the ideal beauty' with images in magazines, bill boards and the daily newspapers. Even though we may not aspire towards it, or be consciously aware of it, the subliminal effect is cumulative and usually negative. A face that looks its best, inspires a positive response from others. Significantly, it can be indicative that you're in good shape – physically, mentally, emotionally and energetically.

Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ is a complementary therapy that aims to potentially optimise how you look and feel.

How does it work?
You’ll have heard of reflexology, the therapy that works through the feet. Rather than working on micro maps of the body on a part of you that no-one sees, Facial Reflexology Sorensensistem™ works through your most visible feature. Your face is richly supplied with nerves and blood vessels. Its closeness to the brain means that stimulus takes the shortest possible route to the control centre of the body to potentially address your health imbalances.

In a Facial Reflexology treatment, the entire surface of the face is treated (except the eyelids). This may initiate a natural improvement in the blood circulation, lymphatic drainage, muscle tone and nerve supply to the face and head. Clients frequently report an enhanced feeling of well-being – and a glowing complexion.

What are the health benefits?
Our body is an amazingly complex set of systems, all interconnected. A wholistic therapy may address all aspects of an individual on levels: emotional, physical, mental and energetic. Therefore any imbalance of the body can potentially benefit.

What’s a treatment like?
A detailed health history is always obtained on your first appointment. Your current health status is assessed and a specific Facial Reflexology treatment plan is designed just for your needs.

The Facial Reflexology session is frequently reported as "deeply relaxing". You don't realise how much tension can build up in the muscles of your face – tensions which can permeate the entire body. You use your face hundreds of times a day to laugh, eat, talk, frown, express and suppress emotion. These may all result in an accumulation of facial muscle tension which the deep releasing strokes of face reflexology may steadily dissipate - potentially achieving a corresponding improvement in your sense of well-being.

Every session commences with the stimulation of facial acupuncture points with the intention of enervating the nerves and lymphatic and blood circulation of the face. We then proceed with a series of different treatment procedures on face maps, which represent your 12 major Chinese energy meridians, your physical and psychological aspects. Through these maps, we aim to stimulate the brain and nerve system and initiate the healing process. Cranial lines and points are also used where appropriate.

A treatment normally lasts from 45 to 50 minutes, but can be extended to 90 minutes if an Indian Head and Shoulders massage or additional facial muscle massage is incorporated. The therapy is appropriate for clients of all ages including children (who may respond particularly quickly) and those with a dis-ability. The benefits have been reported to continue for some days and a course of treatment is always advised.

As natural as can be
My only equipment is my hands, using an oil or cream to achieve a deep massage of the face maps. I use pure Rose Mosqueta oil from South America and a blend of aromatherapy cream, custom-made for Mind Body Positive.

For you – or as unique present

A course of Facial Reflexology treatments would be an unmatched treat for you. It’s also perfect as a gift for a loved one of any age or health status.
